It is made of stained Brazilian boxwood. This is a very light weight instrument and is extremely responsive to play. The boxwood produces a warm tone, giving it a more weighty sound than the maple alto. It is an ideal low pitch alto recorder for ensemble and occasional solo playing. This recorder plays evenly across the whole register. Its responsiveness is well suited to
